Toronto Fashion Week

My girlfriends and I are getting dolled up for this exciting event. Don't miss out on up-and-coming Canadian talents! There are some really gifted young designers strutting their craft.
I want to attend Joeffer Caoc's show but it's BIO. Boo hoo.

The Running (Wo)Man

I woke up bright and early sunday morning and met my friend Ryan for the Harbourfront Half-Marathon downtown. Over 15,000 participants took to the streets. We didn't fare too badly, although my time was slower than what it used to be. This will mark my first half-marathon race in almost 3 years. My ankle was a bit shaky, but the important thing is, I completed the race without having to call the ambulance to sweep my carcass off the road.
Today, I popped a couple of Tylenols and drove to work, donning the medal around my neck like I was flava flave. Anyway, I had a great time. Next week, I am running the 5K Run for the Cure, and two weeks later, the Toronto Zoo 10K. Can't wait!

I Want! I Want!

This is the candy wrapper baguette I was talking about. I wanted to buy it but I just recently bought an LV purse and my friends keep reminding me how ridiculously expensive it is!!!

Guilt-Free Purchases

I picked up this really cool Norrell sweater-dress (in a vibrant red/blue number) by preloved (top), and this black Amanda one-piece bathing suit by Kelly B. (left) from Green is Black.

Green is Black

I met a friend for lunch the other day on my day off. We got to talking about the environment and finding solutions on how to reduce our carbon footprint. She then took me down Yonge St. to a boutique called Green is Black, where everything is eco-friendly and ethical. From re-invented vintages, to outfits made of organic fabrics such as hemp, cotton, bamboo or soy, to footwear made of recycled old tires and accessories from old candy wrappers, this gem of a store really had their bases covered. Every brand is either locally made, or manufactured in places where employers practice fair trade. I was introduced to Kerry, founder of the company, and got to chatting a little bit about what it means to be green. Anyway, to make a long story short, my friend ended up modelling a jumpsuit (my pick!) for BT the next day. Check them out! www.greenisblack.ca

Mon Itinéraire

In the next few months, I will try to keep you updated with my forays into far-flung destinations. I want to start by providing you with a blueprint:
First, I will be travelling to the City of Angels to do some sightseeing, shopping and star-gazing. Next, with an entourage of close friends and family, I will be getting married on a beautiful beach somewhere in the French Polynesia. To wrap up 2008, I will be celebrating Christmas this year in Montreal where my two lovely sisters now reside. Sigh. I miss them terribly, but at least now I have an excuse to hop on a train anytime and drop by for a visit!

Walk with me

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the places and moments that take our breath away.
